About Us
Uratta Global Initiative (UGI) is the brainchild of eminent and progressive Uratta Sons following some deep reflection on the need to reposition Uratta in the scheme of things. The idea came to fruition in 2019 following a clarion call on eighteen patriotic and forthright Uratta sons of impeccable character. The call is to reawaken our consciousness on several spheres of Uratta development, drive the needed change with a bid to reposition Uratta.
These eighteen pioneer members committed to rewrite the history of Uratta for its greater good through their allegiance to the UGI worthy cause through our carefully articulated mission and vision statements.
We are here to advance the economic, political, cultural and social heritage of Nde- Uratta. We are on a mission with so much ground (fraught with challenges) to cover but, we are determined and committed to make the difference. Our word is our bond!

Since the inauguration of the pioneer and elected executive committee in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has been a cog in the wheel of our progress.
UGI is quite unique with members scattered around the globe with various time zones, our operation is mostly through virtual meetings and our activities coordinated virtually which could sometimes pose some challenges. However, we remain resolute, combat ready and our eyes are consistently on the goal.
Today, UGI is a legal and corporate association. We are fully registered with Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria (CAC) with a board of trustee and duly elected leadership team. We have also identified and fully registered locally with Owerri North Local Government Council, Imo state.
We strive to make a difference and touch the lives in our community positively. This we can do through collaboration and togetherness. We are pleased to extend our invitation to all progressive and consummate sons of Uratta to identify with us on this journey. It is called Uratta Global Initiative and posterity will be kind to us.
